Dissertation Project
Spaces, Boundaries, and Accessibilities in Nazi Forced Camps in the Context of Historical-Archaeological Sources
Within the dissertation project, spatial differentiations and boundaries in Nazi forced camps are examined. Using a transdisciplinary approach involving a broad range of source types, the inner structure of concentration and forced labor camps and their integration into the surroundings are analyzed with regard to accessibilities and prohibited areas. The spatial perspectives and perceptions of prisoners, guards, and the outside world (such as the regional civilian population) are the focus of the research.
